Your original picture is never touched other than putting it in the scanner. It is scanned as a regular copy machine would operate, and then returned to you in the same condition with the reproduction on a new sheet of photo paper.

There are many ways that a picture can be changed. Changing a picture can enhance or detract from its original condition. Usually a customer wants their picture to look its best. Below are some descriptions of how a picture can be changed.
Color balance can be used to return the picture to its original condition. Sharpen is used to bring a slightly blurry picture into a better focus.Removing dust is a way to get tiny speckles out of a picture.Variations of color are used in either a color or black and white picture to produce a different tone in the picture.Trimming a picture is done to use a special part of the picture and discard the rest. A recent color picture can be turned into an old picture by turning it into a black and white image and putting a grainy touch to it to make it look old. An old picture can be colorized to make it look as if there were some color in the picture at the time that the picture was taken. Some pictures are missing large amounts of information such as faces, and buildings. These kinds of pictures are some of the more difficult to do.
Sometimes it is possible to place a face or object from another picture to the primary picture. This is done by scanning both pictures and copying the object from the secondary picture and putting it on the primary picture.
As seen in the pictures Ft. Worth, Texas, (Portraits), the corrections were done with a little artwork, and there was no need to scan another picture. The Clovis picture had many faces missing and there was no way of finding Original faces. In order to make the picture look complete, other faces in the picture were used to replace missing features.
